Palahniuk on Travel Channel

Chuck Palahniuk, author of Fight Club and the upcoming Rant: An Oral Biography of Buster Casey was on the Travel Channel last night. He appeared on an episode of Anthony Bourdain’s No Reservations where the chef toured the Pacific Northwest. While in Portland, Palahniuk showed Bourdain around some of the more off-beat eateries. Bourdain was particularly enamored with the bacon doughnut with maple frosting at Voodoo Doughnut.

It looks like the only time the show is scheduled to re-air is tonight at 1am. Although, I’m sure they’ll show it again at some point.

It’s nice to see authors appear on more diverse shows. CNN Span’s Book TV programing is great, but we need wider coverage (and publicity) than that. Jay McInerney was on Iron Chef America and also on Mario Batali’s show.  The more appearances like these, the better.

C-Span’s Book TV? Might as well be called Non-Fiction Book TV.
