I have a 1936 Royal KHM typewriter with a 12″ carriage. It’s in working order, but needs a new ribbon. Does anyone know where you can buy vintage typewriter ribbons? Or, maybe there are modern ribbons that can fit onto this older spools?
If you know anything about old typewriters and can offer some words of wisdom, I’d love to hear from you. Please email me. Thanks!
What a cool machine! Try Googling for a ribbon. Or you might try re-inking the old one.

You might to set up a permanent search on ebay with automatic email notifications and also create a ‘want it now’ listing there, too.
What a beauty!
I no longer own a typewriter myself, but I found this: http://staff.xu.edu/~polt/typewriters/index.html
Geez!! Edd now your an expert on typewriters? Is there anything you don’t claim to be an expert on?

I was able to get a ribbon for my 50s Olympia typewriter recently.
I also know that “Staples” has typewriter ribbons.
i have the same typewriter and type on it quite often. you can get reel to reel typewriter ribbon at staples, if you have the ribbon, it is easy to find somet the same width. If you don’t then you’ll have to estimate due to the reel size. I use data products okidata 52100701, it is reel to reel and you just have to transfer the ribbon from the plastic reels to your reels.
