Book Deal is Getting Closer

Posted on Thursday 24 August 2006

We’ve been speculating how long it would take for book deals regarding John Mark Karr, the alleged murderer in the JonBenet Ramsey case, to surface. Well, it’s probably getting closer because the AP reported that the Karr family have hired Burkbank, CA-based Larry Garrison to represent them. According to the report, the actor-author “said in a telephone interview that he has secured the film and book rights for the Karr family’s story.”

Now, here’s what’s interesting. I thought Garrison’s name sounded awfully familiar. So I did a little research and came up with this article from September of last year. A gentleman with the name Larry Garrison was sued by one of the Michael Jackson jurors who claimed “they were novices suckered into signing a book pact.”

Garrison is also the co-author of Aruba: The Tragic Untold Story of Natalee Holloway and Corruption in Paradise. So if you ever find yourself in the middle of a high-profile criminal case, now you know the expert to call.

I write about predators like Karr and others of his ilk in two of my several books. What Karr and other predators need is described in “Let No Man Be My Albatross” and “FATA! The Act of the Avengeance.” In both cases the predator gets to meet up with the fathers of the victims.

I think if I was in that business I would need to install a shower in my office to avoid leaving a trail of slime behind me…
