Laid Low

It’s been a slow week around here as far as Slushpile.net goes. On Tuesday evening, what I thought was going to be just a common everyday flu bug ended up sending me to the emergency room. Wednesday and Thursday consisted of just brief periods of alertness as I slept off the elephant-tranquilizer effects of my medication. I’m on the mend now though and we should be back up to normal Slushpile speed on Monday.

I did, in a very brief moment of emergency room clarity, realize why so many stories are set in hospitals. The gang that was in the emergency room with me overnight on Tuesday was completely worthy of Denis Johnson story. If I had been more lucid, I certainly would have picked up some good material. But instead of getting fiction material, I’m just glad to start feeling better and getting back at the keyboard.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Geez, man, hope you get back on your feet soon! And if you’re feeling charitable, send me some of those meds. I would love the elephant-tranquilizer effects at this point.

…glad you’re better…every trip I ever made to the ER always left me in worse shape than when I went in…..

Hope you continue to feel better. Nothing like a trip to emergency to make you realize the bell curve of humanity has some real variation.
