Bonnie Fuller, former editor of US Weekly and other magazines, gives new meaning to struggling with a tough deadline. Her book, The Joys of Much Too Much: Go for the Big Life–The Great Career, The Perfect Guy, and Everything Else You’ve Ever Wanted, was covered in a New York Times article on Monday.

The article states, “at Cosmopolitan and Glamour, she did not take maternity leaves, setting a whole new standard for pregnant editors. ‘I’m not embarrassed to say I was reading proofs in the delivery room,’ she writes.”

Reviewing proofs in a hospital setting actually isn’t a bad idea. It’s probably the only time editorial notes are not the most illegible handwriting in sight.
