Porizkova’s Difficult Decisions

Posted on Monday 6 March 2006

(alternate text) The always useful Publishers Marketplace reported that former supermodel Paulina Porizkova signed a deal with Hyperion for a novel entitled A Model Summer in which a fifteen-year-old Czech-born Swedish girl is chosen by a modeling agent to spend a summer strutting for the camera in Paris. During that time in the City of Light, the model is forced “to make decisions that no teen-ager should ever have to make.”

Following the “write what you know” adage, Porizkova was born in Czechoslovakia and moved to Lund in the southern region of Sweden. At fifteen, the Elite modeling agency moved her to Paris, where presumably, she had to make difficult decisions.

No word on if those decisions include talented but strange looking musicians with skinny ties and sunglasses.
