Earlier this week, the fine independent publisher MacAdam/Cage announced a strategic relationship with Random House of Canada. In April of this year, Random House of Canada will take responsibility for selling, distributing, and marketing the Cage’s fantastic frontlist titles. Additionally, M/C’s previously published hardcover books will be issued in paperback editions as part of the Anchor Canada list.

In a press release, M/C president Scott Allen said “We’re all very excited about this partnership. When you look at the bestseller lists in Canada it’s clear they have an appetite for the kind of quality fiction and nonfiction that we publish. We’re committed to bringing Canadian authors such as Jane Urquhart and David Adams Richards to the attention of American readers, and we look forward to working with Random House of Canada to introduce similarly talented American authors to Canadian readers.”

I guess this means that Phineas Poe is going to have to navigate the gritty backstreets of Montreal, John Dolan Vincent will have to forge Canadian passports, and L.P. Deal will scribble his notes in an ice rink.

Congratulations to all the amazing folks at MacAdam/Cage for this significant deal.
